Project Dakota: is a CD that contains all the Windows XP updates found on the Windows Update Network. It includes a small program that runs the updates in order specified by Microsoft.
This will definitely save bandwidth costs, especially for people in Africa. Lets just hope that the install script is good enough and does not cause more issues.
One more question, does the program know if patches are installed? Which patch needs to be applied? or does it just try install everything?

Nagios - Network Monitor
Nagios is a free, as in Open Source, network and service monitor designed to pro actively inform on network problems.
Some features from nagios.org;

- Monitoring of host resources (processor load, disk and memory usage, running processes, log files, etc.).
- Monitoring of environmental factors such as temperature.

The parent company of Wordpress, Automattic announced this week that it received $29 million in funding from 4 investors, who will take a minority stake in the company.
